Blakedown Landscapes Wins Two National BALI Awards

Blakedown Landscapes is thrilled to announce that we have won two BALI National Landscape Awards for our exceptional projects at The Oudolf Landscape and Greenwich Park Revealed!

Wayne Grills, Chairman of BALI, praised the 2024 winning projects, highlighting their “meticulous attention to detail, innovative design, and profound respect for the natural environment.” He added that these projects “reflect the highest standards of the craft, resulting in landscapes that are both beautiful and enduring.”

We are incredibly proud of our team’s hard work and dedication in delivering these high-quality, complex landscaping schemes, which have been recognised with these prestigious awards.

Greenwich Park Revealed: Our work focused on restoring and reprofiling the Grand Ascent, redefining the historic Parterre Banks in the Queen’s Garden, transforming the public realm around the Grade II listed General Wolfe Statue, upgrading the Pavilion Cafe, and refreshing the entrance at Blackheath Gate. We collaborated closely with the client and design team, managing 68 variations to the original design to ensure a seamless integration with the existing landscape and a successful outcome.

The Oudolf Landscape: This project transformed the original Glasshouse Borders into a contemporary and sustainable landscape, focusing on plant communities and environmentally friendly planting. We worked with the RHS Garden Wisley Team to grade and prepare new beds, create self-binding gravel hillside footpaths, and assist with the planting of 31,000 perennials. The collaborative approach allowed for design changes at various stages, resulting in a visually stunning and seamlessly integrated final result.

We can’t wait to see who will take home the Principal Awards and Grand Award at the National Landscape Awards ceremony on 6 December. It’s going to be an evening of celebration and recognition of the best in the industry, and we are excited to be part of it!
