Royal Opening at Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham
Prince Harry recently opened a memorial in Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham for the victims of the terrorist attacks in Tunisia.
The Sousse and Bardo memorial, designed by George King Architects, was inspired by the fluid geometry of flowing water, frozen in place, as if the time had stood still at the moment of the attack. The surrounding landscaping follows the theme of water, conceived as a series of ripples that flow in concentric circles from the centre. We worked on the construction of the new memorial and also carried out the surrounding landscaping improvements.
The project team at Blakedown have worked diligently and respectfully to bring the memorial space to fruition in time for the ceremony.
